From around 1902 to 1965, the Kamo River and other rivers in Kyoto City were used for Yuzen-nagashi, or floating Yuzen fabrics in the river.
process to discard the “Nori" from the Yuzen Kimono fabrics.
The beautiful, colorful cloths swaying in the river are still talked about today and can be seen at events.
This print has a retro atmosphere reminiscent of the Showa and Taisho eras and is a soothing picture.
