◾️Zojoji Temple
「芝増上寺」東京二十景
家康が徳川幕府を開いたときに芝に移転された浄土宗の寺です。
多くの犠牲を伴った戦乱の世が終わり、死者への慰霊と平和な未来が祈願されました。
将軍家の菩提寺で、大河ドラマ「江〜姫たちの戦国〜」の主人公「お江」と夫の「秀頼」も埋葬されているゆかりの寺です。
江戸初期の面影を残す唯一の建造物で、国の重要文化財に指定されています。
吹雪の増上寺の山門の前が描かれた芝増上寺は
東京二十景の最初の作品であり、人気があり最も多く摺られました。

Shiba Zojoji Temple” Twenty Views of Tokyo
This temple of the Jodo sect was relocated to Shiba when Ieyasu established the Tokugawa Shogunate.
After the end of the warring world with its many sacrifices, memorials to the dead and prayers for a peaceful future were offered.
It is the family temple of the Shogun family, and Oe and her husband Hideyori, the main characters of the historical drama “E - Hime-tachi no Sengoku” are also buried here.
It is the only building that still retains its early Edo period appearance and is designated as a National Important Cultural Property.
Shiba Zojoji Temple is depicted in front of the temple gate of Zojoji Temple in a snowstorm.
Shiba Zojo-ji Temple, the first of the 20 Views of Tokyo, was the most popular and most widely printed.

◾️Hiraizumi Konjikido
平泉金色堂（絶筆）
金色堂がある岩手県の「平泉」は世界遺産に登録されています。
平安後期に平泉はその規模や華やかさにおいて京に劣らないほど栄えた都でした。
中尊寺金色堂は、極楽浄土を現世で見るために造られたとも言われているように、金箔と精細な螺鈿細工で埋め尽くされた豪華なお堂です。
この世の極楽を見るために、遠い時代の人々は金色堂を護っている囲い屋をめざして長い坂と段を上ってゆきました。
平泉金色堂が川瀬巴水の最後の創作となりました。
坂を登る僧侶に巴水は自分自身を重ねて描いたと言われています。

Hiraizumi Konjikidō (Golden Hall) (exlcuded)
Hiraizumi” in Iwate Prefecture, where Konjikido is located, is registered as a World Heritage site.
In the late Heian period (794-1185), Hiraizumi was a prosperous capital that rivaled the capital of Kyoto in terms of size and splendor.
Chuson-ji Konjikido is a gorgeous hall filled with gold leaf and detailed mother-of-pearl inlay, as it is said to have been built to see the Paradise in this world.
In order to see paradise in this world, people of long ago ascended the long slopes and steps to the enclosure that protected Konjikido.
Hiraizumi Konjikido was Kawase Tomoe Sui's last creation.
It is said that Tomoe Sui drew himself in the image of the monk climbing up the hill.

◾️Kiyomizu temple
清水寺の暮雪
「清水の舞台（から飛び降りる）」で知られる清水寺本堂。
お堂が建てられている崖には観音様が崖に現れたというインドの故事と同様の謂れがあります。
空中にせり出している舞台では雅楽、能・狂言、歌舞伎、相撲などが古くから奉納されてきました。
お堂と舞台の全体を最もよく見ることができる場所は、本堂を抜けたところに建つ「奥の院」からです。
右手に清水の舞台、眼下に美しい木々、その向こうには京の都が開けているのを一望にすることができます。

Snowfall at Kiyomizu-dera Temple
The main hall of Kiyomizu-dera Temple is known for “jumping off the stage of Kiyomizu.
The cliff on which the hall is built has a legend similar to the Indian legend that Kannon, the Goddess of Mercy, appeared on the cliff.
On the stage, which is raised into the air, Gagaku (ancient Japanese court music), Noh, Kyogen, Kabuki, and Sumo wrestling have been dedicated since ancient times.
The best place to view the entire hall and stage is from the Okuno-in Temple, which stands just past the main hall.
You can see the stage of Kiyomizu on the right, beautiful trees below, and the capital city of Kyoto opening up beyond.
