五湖のなかでも海に面している久々子湖（くぐしこ）湖水は早瀬で若狭湾とつながっているので、限りなく海水に近く70%の海水濃度です。 また、南西にある水月湖とも水路でつながっています。
Among the five lakes, Lake Kugushiko faces the sea and is connected to Wakasa Bay by an early rapids, so it is as close to seawater as possible, with a seawater concentration of 70%. It is also connected to Lake Suigetsu to the southwest by a waterway.
